Hello one and all.
Here's an improvisation between Peter Knight and I leading into his magnificent song 'From a Lullaby Kiss' on the 2024 Feast of Fiddles Tour. Purely nostalgic reasons to keep this here - but I remember performing it every night on tour with a mixture of joy, awe and terror!
Gig dates are gradually being added to the Live page here.
I am also available for session work if anyone wants or needs full strings on anything. I can record here in my home studio, or I can come to you. Drop me an email at marion.fleetwood1@gmail.com
I've been busy at home recording projects for lots of singer songwriters, film score composers and bands, as well as spending time in one of my favourite local recording studios, Rhythm Studios which as well as
being fab is a 10 minute drive from my home.
Tea and cake abound.
I have branched out into production and have just finished working on a second album for the gorgeous Clementine Lovell, who writes and sings and also plays a very large full size accordion. Her debut album, Westbound, which I produced, won Fatea Magazine's 'Best Debut Album' award in 2025. We have just released her second studio album, Permutations, which is receiving rave reviews already.
2026 marches ahead with a new project with Reg Meuross - Fire and Dust. This is a song cycle written by Reg, who is a master songwriter, and produced by Pete Townshend (who appears on the album too). Fellow musicians involved are Geraint Watkins (Van Morrison), Simon Edwards and Roy Dodds (Fairground Attraction), Ruth Angel (Ashley Hutchings) and Phil Beer (Show of Hands).
Band shows have the story of Woody Guthrie running between each song, written by Reg and narrated variously by our consultant expert on Guthrie – Emeritus Professor Will Kaufman – and other special guests.
We'll be touring it throughout 2026 after the sold out premiere at Bush Hall in London in March 2025.
You can read more about this project here.
I'm also thrilled to have been asked to join Jim Creegan (Family, Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, Rod Stewart Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa, Pete Townsend, Chuck Berry, Tina Turner, Elton John and Cat Stevens - the list is endless!) in his New Acoustic Band.
I'll be adding cello, fiddle and bvs when I join his trio - Pat Davey (Paul Young, Jim Cregan & Co, Kenney Jones & The Jones Gang, Band Of Angels and Tom Robinson) on bass and Sam Tanner (Rod Stewart, The Faces, Roger Daltrey & Pete Townsend, Jeff Beck, Mick Hucknall and Paul Young) on piano.
Our album is currently being mastered and will be released in July. For gig dates, check out my dates page here

I've just finished this year's tour with Feast of Fiddles and a run of dates with The Sandy Denny Project which continues to be a joy. After SandyFest 2026, Spiral Earth's Simon Jones wrote this about us:
'Making my way back north through the night there is time to play both Sandy Denny and The Project on the car CD system. Somehow, I don’t know if it’s just me but driving back along empty streets and country byways suits the music. It’s rooted here and Sandy’s subject matter isn’t about speeding down some highway in a huge truck, love lorn, whiskey glass staring, throwing impossible shapes on a dance floor somewhere. It speaks of where she comes from, sitting on church yard walls, the sea, fast flowing rivers, wistful thinking, gypsies, carnivals… the list goes on. That her music should ever become like a museum piece is unthinkable. From everything I’ve seen, heard and experienced there are no more appropriate crusaders to take her works forward than The Sandy Denny Project. Believe it.'
Which was nice.
SDP has a run of gigs in the autumn - dates on my dates page.
Sally Barker and I are developing a new duo project, more of which soon. But we are doing our second gig at St Paul's Church Gardens in Camden NW1 on August 8th this year. We're really looking forward to sharing our music and stories with audiences as the project builds - and of course we'll be recording an album to go with it.
Diary management is a nightmare, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I'll be retiring from teaching in
April 2027 (I know - bonkers!!) so things will get a little easier, but I have no intention of slowing down just yet!
Take care whatever you are doing, and see you along the road.
